Level 2 Learn to Paint an Introduction

We will be using some of the techniques we have learnt in level one, expanding our knowledge and techniques.

We will be studying the differences between painting and drawing from memory compared to directly observed subjects.

We will be able to demonstrate the ability to use a range of watercolour techniques, on a range of papers, using different brush strokes, and substances such as salt to create texture within the finished paintwork.

We will be able to demonstrate the preparation of the papers, and the correct ways to transfer images from our own drawings and other media sources to the prepared paper. We will be able to demonstrate some of the principles related to the application of colour, and produce another colour wheel or chart, with a warm and cool side using a more than two colour mixing method.

Produce our sketchbooks, using pencil, pen and colour washes. Demonstrate that we understand the way that light and shade affects objects and the subjects that we are painting. We will through a series of demonstrations, and discussions and practise produce a portfolio, of our work. At all times you will be able to choose either to follow the prepared demonstration or a similar subject of your own.

You are encouraged to practise, in your own time, and we will enjoy seeing your efforts, please fetch them in.

I look forward to painting with you...book your place 01686640722

please note some of the pet paintings are by a brilliant student of mine Steven Cave, and are clearly signed, i do not take the credit for these.
